It’s easy to get from the airport in Bogota, Colombia, to the city center on the modern public rapid bus system called TransMilenio…
First go to the TransMilenio fare card kiosk at the airport, just past exiting the baggage claim area.
You can buy one fare card to with multiple people, since each person can tag on, then pass the card to the next person in the group to do the same.
Board the M86 bus at airport which will go toward the Bogota city center, via Avenida El Dorado.
Once the bus leaves the airport, you’ll see that it makes stops at enclosed stations with high-level platforms that match the height of the floors inside the buses.
You can exit the bus at any of those stops, staying inside the enclosed area, and catch any other bus that stops there without paying another fare. Multiple bus lines service almost every stop, so you can make your way from line to line across the entire city of Bogota, all for that one fare. It’s pretty great.
